Every year Wild Amelia Festival, FL has been coming up with different themes to create an awareness among people, about the deteriorating wildlife conditions. Amelia Island is one of the hidden treasures of Florida, with 13 miles of beautiful beaches, abundant native wildlife and breath-taking scenic landscape. Located on the northeastern shore of Florida, Amelia Island has been a favorite destination for tourists, specially photography enthusiasts. While last year, the theme was Gopher tortoise, this year Wild Amelia Island, FL has taken up the concern of rapidly decreasing numbers of Right Whales.
The three day festival that will go on from May 15- 17′ 2009, will have nature photography contests for both children and adults. Giving an opportunity to experience the native wildlife and to bring up the concern for Right Whales, Wild Amelia Festival, also offers some exciting activities, like segway tour to Ft. George Island, FL, kayaking in the marshes along Ft. Clinch State Park, FL and exploring bird habitats of the island on a bike.
Besides conducting around 25 seminars over the three days, the main attraction of Wild Amelia Festival this year, would be the nature photography contests. For adults, the fees would be $25 for upto 3 entries and if a participant wants to submit more entries, then an additional fees of $10 would be charged per entry. As far as photography contest for children is concerned, the fees would be $5 for 2 entries and the payment would have to be given right at the time of submission, through cash or money order.
Efforts like these, would surely bring up the beautiful side of the Amelia Island, FL and would make it a more popular tourist destination of FL.
