The Best Season to Visit Florida

Florida Map
Thunderstorms, extensive rain and floods are what you’ll encounter if you are in or around Florida’s Daytona Beach city area, located in the northeastern part of the state. Volusia County is the worst hit, where around a thousand buildings have been damaged due to flooding. To avoid such inconveniences, one must have an idea as to which season is best to visit this tourist destination. Florida is one state that has got some or the other exciting event happening every now and then. Be it the addition of new attractions in world-renowned theme parks of FL, or the picturesque beaches, which have found a mention in the list of the nation’s top 10 beaches, in a recent survey. Besides this Florida also have International Drive, a popular tourist attraction and numerous villas and hotels suiting every budget.

To determine which is the best season to visit Florida you need to know first, which aspect of Florida would you like to enjoy. If Northern Florida is your target, then summer that is May- Sept. is the best season to visit. Since this is the most favored season by tourists, you’ll have to be ready to pay the extra cost of accommodation. If budget is an issue for you, then consider visiting North Florida, north of Orlando and Walt Disney World, in December-April period, which although is the winter season but still many visitors come during this period. April- May and Sept- Nov are the best months, since the temperature is cool and favorable for a vacation. If you are targeting Southern Florida, then December-April is the period you should be considering. One important advice worth mentioning here would be to avoid visiting Florida in the period June- October, because the risk of hurricanes and thunderstorms is high during this period. If you want to avoid crowds, then try not to visit during popular periods, such as President’s Day weekend (February), Easter week, Memorial Day weekend (end of May) and Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.
