
Amelia Island, which used to be a barrier isle of Florida is today a venue for the country’s finest music festivals, Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival being one of them. It is an annual celebration of classical chamber music and attracts about 50-60 internationally acclaimed artists and a huge audience. The venue for this exciting festival of FL is a sea faring village of Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island and this festival usually takes place in May and June every year.
Amelia Island’s Chamber Music Festival 2009 is an ideal place for classical music lovers. Some of the highlights of the 8th season of this festival going on are Juilliard and Guarneri String Quartets, Jennifer Koh, Bobby McDuffie, Anne Akiko Meyers, Andres Diaz, Anne-Marie McDermott and the Eroica Trio. The historic charm of the Amelia Island adds a special flavor to this festival. While some of the performances have free entry, guests need to pay around $10 to $60 to attend other performances. Guests can also avail discounts on tickets to Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival by booking them at certain local hotels. Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival’ 2009 started on May 21st and it will go on till June 14th, though it will officially end on October 27th, when the final concert will be performed at Amelia Plantation Chapel.
